Open Positions at Taranet
Web content manager
Taranet is seeking a Web Content Manager to join our team supporting a client in Monterey, California.
The Taranet team will provide internal/external institutional website design and content management to support NPS Online and DL academic activity. This includes but is not limited to, the development, maintenance, and update of distance learning web-based resources such as NPS Online and custom webpages.
Duties:
- Develop and maintain all PAO web pages. The contractor shall post government-approved content to the websites.
- Continuously identify content aligned with the PAO office’s mission for posting to the web.
- Continuously develop, migrate, and design new and existing pages in support of the NPS web migration efforts, including the NPS News Center, official PAO pages, and other sites. The contractor shall work with ITACS web developers as needed to complete pages.
- Design and incorporate professional quality web-based graphics in support of PAO web-based communications.
- Provide monthly reports of website performance.
- Technically brief the NPS Web Advisory subcommittee(s). The technical briefing shall assess website changes, make technical recommendations for changes, prioritize changes, and provide reports to PAO leadership on group-suggested changes to existing pages, technologies, or implementation strategies.
- Evaluate the websites of other comparative research universities to provide technical information support on web communications strategies and techniques to the Director of Communications and the PAO.
- Actively participate in implementing and deploying replacement web content and portal management technology. These requirements include redesigning the NPS home page, supporting PAO pages and site elements, and revising existing training materials.
Preferred experience:
- 5 years of experience with web content management systems, web analytics, developing, writing, reviewing, and presenting accessible website content while following plain language best practices.
- Experience leading the development and management of website content for an academic department or institution.
- Proven record of overseeing and maintaining responsibility for writing and recommending website content in collaboration with an internal team and external content contributors
Education:
Required Education: BA/BS degree in relevant professional discipline.
