Mid to Senior Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) The Information Systems Security Engineer will be responsible for the integration and implementation of security tools into developing SCI systems. The qualified candidate will consult with senior engineers, data architects, and developers on the program to ensure effective security is achieved across the SDLC. The candidate will work with the program’s ISSO, and IA team members to support assessment and authorization (A&A) activities and to ensure sound security integration within the Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST 800-53, ICD 503, CNSSI 1253, and agency security overlays. The Information Systems Security Engineer will assist in the design, development, and implementation of system security measures that provide confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, and non-repudiation. The Information Systems Security Engineer will lead the technical security implementation of various platform components and tenants applications that may include software, network security, or peripheral components, software and data services. The candidate should have a strong technical background in secure software systems design and development, and be familiar with security across the full stack, to include Hypervisors, Host-based Security, Network Security, Software Security, High Availability/Reliability Design, Message Security, and Database Security to name a few. The security engineer will review and assist design engineers and developers in overarching system design with a focus on Information Assurance and will work with program managers and subject matter experts (SME) in IA and security. Routine engagement with government customers to perform related tasks and lead security engineering discussions. Job Requirements :

  • 5+ years experience in HBSS configuration and management
  • TOP SECRET with SCI security clearance (minimum active TS and eligible for SCI access)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Cybersecurity, Computer Science or related field (Master’s Degree in Engineering, Information Systems or Cybersecurity preferred)
  • Experience in HBSS systems administration and troubleshooting
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification (May substitute combined Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and Certified Information Security Auditor (CISA) certifications in lieu of the CISSP certification)
